We’ve integrated Youtube’s new monetization API, which lets you adjust your monetization settings for Youtube Live without leaving StreamYard.

Previously, you had to go to Youtube Studio to manage your ads, but now you can do it entirely in StreamYard.

Here’s how to do it:

1. Select Youtube as a destination for your stream
2. In the extended pop up, use the Youtube Live Ads dropdown to select your ad frequency
3. Youtube will display ads on your stream at your chosen frequency

To adjust ad settings in StreamYard, your Youtube account needs to be eligible for monetization. You can learn more about StreamYard and Youtube monetization in our Help Center article.

When a guest joins your studio via the link, they’ll see a welcome page branded with your logo and colours, giving your show a premium first impression.

The title, date and destinations of your streams will automatically appear on your welcome cards—there’s no need to set anything up yourself.

To use them, select Branded welcome for guests in your invite settings.

How to preview your welcome card:

1. In the studio, click the Invite guests button in the toolbar.
2. At the bottom of the pop-up, you’ll see the Your new welcome page section.
3. In that section, click Show me.
   

Note for Reusable Studios users:

If you’re using a reusable studio, your welcome card will display the title of your active stream or recording—not the title of your studio. If you invite a guest to an empty studio (one showing the Create + option in the top right), your welcome card won’t show a title.

You can now use ‘@’ to mention a specific person in the studio private chat to make sure they see your message.

When focused on their stream, people don’t always see private messages straight away.

That’s why now, if you need someone’s attention urgently, you can use ‘@’ to mention their name, and your message will show up as a prominent banner at the top of their screen.

Here’s how to use ‘@’ mentions:

1. When in the studio, open the Private chat tab in the right-hand banner.
2. In the new message textbox, type the ‘@’ symbol, then begin typing the display name of the person you want to mention. Their name will appear in a pop-up list.
3. Click on their name, or press enter. It will appear in your message in bold.
4. When your message is sent, the mentioned user will see it as a banner in the middle of their screen.

Like all private chat messages, ‘@’ mentions are only visible to people in the studio, not viewers.

We've added a webcam customization tool that lets you perfect your look in any broadcast.

We’ve doubled the character limit in our Notes feature to 10,000, so you can plan your broadcast without running out of space—perfect for long, complex, or scripted shows.

Here’s what you need to know:

• You can copy and paste your notes from anywhere
• Notes are visible to all hosts and co-hosts
• For those who use it, notes are fully compatible with the Teleprompter feature

Now you can keep even your most detailed notes inside StreamYard, all in one place.

🤖 Rethinking short-form content with AI Clips

Earlier in December, we released a major update to AI Clips, our AI-powered reels generator that turns long-form content into scroll-stopping reels in just a few clicks.

Explore the new customization controls by adding your logo, customizing caption styling with colors and fonts, and adjusting the duration of your clip. Use your voice to guide the AI in selecting the best moments for your reels, or prompt it with detailed text descriptions.

🪐Multi-aspect ratio streaming (MARS)

In November, we introduced MARS (multi-aspect ratio streaming), StreamYard’s innovative tool to deliver content automatically optimized for both desktop and mobile.

With MARS, you can stream vertically and horizontally at the same time, from the same studio. Upload custom assets for each orientation, and let StreamYard handle the conversion between the two formats: your layouts are automatically adapted to the portrait aspect. And only for YouTube, try to go live with both formats to the same account!

🎑 Scenes

At the beginning of 2025, Scenes became available to everyone at StreamYard: now irreplaceable for our power users, Scenes is a feature that lets you plan how the elements of your show will appear in advance, and pre-save different configurations that you can then select while live with just one click.

📹 Enhanced video quality

After months of under-the-hood engineering efforts, in November we optimized our recording pipeline to improve the quality of your stream: expect crisper text, smoother motion and better color accuracy. 📝 Notes and Teleprompter

Never miss a beat while managing your show: in August, we added a new tab to your studio where you can jot down and save notes. And to make the most out of it, we coupled it with an on-screen teleprompter, that displays your notes scrolling through them smoothly; only visible to you, the teleprompter helps you to minimize distractions while offering support for more structured productions, all without leaving StreamYard.

💬 Chat Overlay

Back in May, we introduced Chat Overlay to gather and showcase all your audience’s comments on your screen. We also recently released a v2.0 to incorporate the feedback we received from you and make it an even more powerful tool for engaging with your audiences. Now you can choose between different dimensions and font sizes to match your preference and improved visibility.

These are just a few of our favorite new features, but the team has been hard at work all year long. Here’s some further selected highlights:

Image sharing. Share image files directly on stage without converting to other formats. [released in March]

We've made links in On-Air webinar chats clickable when sent by hosts and cohosts, making it easier to share resources and engage with your audience during presentations.

Now when you're running a webinar and need to share a relevant link, participants can click it directly from the chat without having to copy and paste URLs manually.

We've added timer functionality to banners so you can control how long they appear on your stream, without needing to manually remove them when no longer needed.

Here's what's new:

• Display durations for banners with 10, 20, or 60-second timers
• Banners are automatically dismissed after the set duration
• Compatibility with all your existing banner designs

Perfect when you want to share information for a limited time: banners appear long enough for your viewers to notice, then clear themselves so your stream stays focused and uncluttered.
